Hello, my name is Jonathan Smith. I am member of the Furman soccer team and over the next couple of months as we prepare for this incredible opportunity to go to Spain, I will be keeping you updated as to what the Furman Soccer Team is doing.
This opportunity is once in a lifetime and I can’t imagine a better group of people to spend it with. I know, looking back, I will always remember the incredible experiences and memories that I will have after traveling with all of my teammates to Spain to not only experience the culture but also to experience the soccer.
As expected, this trip has and will require a tremendous amount work and planning. I know that as a team, we will have to financially plan and fundraise to make sure that everyone is able to go. The team as a whole has set a goal of raising $10,000 to support the trip. So far, in only the past two weeks, we have participated in two events to take steps to reaching this goal. Our first fundraiser was our Chick-fil-a night last Thursday evening. For every person that mentioned Furman Soccer during their purchase, we received 15% of the profits. Our second fundraiser was going out into the community and doing yard work. In doing these first couple of fundraisers we have gotten one step closer to reaching our goal.
