Who We Are
We are Furman Soccer. We are a NCAA Division I Men's College Soccer Team who are a band of brothers. Playing for each other helped us win our team's first Southern Conference Tournament Championship and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in 7 years. We are 25 guys who love to play soccer, grow as people, and share our good fortune with the community around us. We all volunteer at a local youth soccer club and work in schools to encourage at-risk youth to keep their studies up.
Our Trip
We have the opportunity to go to Spain as a team to play games against Spanish Professional teams, learn about Spain as a country, and—most importantly—watch soccer games in two of the cathedrals of our sport: the Nou Camp and Bernabéu Stadiums. This trip costs about $4,000 per person. We are all paying $1500 into the trip because we believe this experience is crucial for our development as soccer players, scholar-athletes, and young men. This leaves $2500 that we are having to fundraise per person. We are conducting fundraisers on campus and in the Greenville, SC community to achieve this goal.
Why You Should Give
Your generous donation helps us earn this trip. You can live well in the knowledge that we appreciate this money and will pay it forward when we graduate college and are in the position to give. Giving also gives you an investment in our trip that you can follow our progress via our blog. You should give because, in paying it forward, you empower us to have an experience that will challenge us and provide context so we become better men.
